ARTIST’S BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
ABU HASAN (HASAN AHMAD)
Date of birth : April 28,1961
Abu Hasan was born in Kuala Lumpur in 1961 and started painting early in his youth,largely involving himself with batik art.His skill in this indigenous art enabled him to travel to several countries to demonstrate the technique of batik art. Soon he went to experiment with acrylic, line drawing and mix media both on canvas and paper. Although Abu Hasan has produce print, linocut, etching, and monoprint, he now dedicated himself to working in mix media on canvas and specializing 0n marine life and abstract composition.

Artist Statement:
The whole process of making the works are like learning to accept desirability,patient and difficulty. Emotion,dreams and feelings were connected and bind to the paintings.Sometimes I was unaware of what’s coming next,being almost impossible to realize it’s real.Even though some of my paintings express personal insight,frustrations and struggle through shape,color and form.The end result is not the most important,the whole process is about what am I adding? And where am I going…but above all that I’m sure about the destiny.
